Icy Straight Point

Another day blessed with good weather.  We had an early start so a quick visit to the buffet for breakfast, before joining the queue for the tenders.  We are at Icy Straight Point  near the town of Hoonah and they are one of the few stops that does not have a dock for the cruise ships.  As such they only allow one cruise ship in at a time and the town is relatively untouched ( certainly not by jewellery shops) - the town has a population of about 750 and they had 6 graduates from their school this year.

We were looked after today by F.I.S.H.E.S – captained by Floyd – a local who has been doing whale watching tours in ISP for 14 years and commercial fishing in the area all his life prior.  He knew where to go, and we saw varied wildlife:

Just missed the breach

A cruisy ( pun intended) afternoon - gym, table tennis and blog before a formal dinner ( well it is suggested - the closest we can get is jeans and a nice top but the waiters are keen for us to be there and James wants to try lobster).

He liked the lobster but prefers prawns ( thank goodness - he has expensive enough tastes as it is).  I however thought the lobster was great and would be happy to have it again.  We couldn't make our mind up about dessert so shared souffle ,bomb alaska and white chocolate mousse.  Afterwards we went to the theatre to watch a show - Brad Cummings - a ventriloquist comedian - very funny.

I forgot to show you James bed configuration
