We woke to the view of our boat - The Radiance of the Sea - from our bedroom window. James was excited.
The view of our hotel ( long blue building) from our cabin
Salmon
watching was next. About 6 miles from
Seward is a popular viewing spot for seeing salmon swim upstream. We saw a few successful attempts before
heading back to Seward to hand in our car and check in.
Handing over the luggage was a low key affair
– a couple of men in a shed – but they seemed to know what they are doing. Check in was easy with no queuing – same with
the security screening. And it was onto
the boat. Our room was not ready until 1
pm so we had lunch in the Windjammer buffet. The room is actually roomier that I expected – I had expected a bit of a
shoebox.
There is a lot of storage for
us to decant into with cupboards and shelves and storing our bags under the
bed. We did a reccy of the ship and
James instantly knew his way around – we are now relying on him for
directions. Mini golf is on the 12 floor
so we all had a game – James and I tying for last!
James and
Andrew went to the arcade for a few games .
Luckily we can put a dollar limit on James’ Seapass Card so he can go
there without us. I actually went to the
gym for the first workout in two weeks ( aagh) . Drinks and early dinner before the muster
drill before we set sail. The food was
delicious so I think a regular visit to the gym will be in order!
View of the Centrum
Our first drinks ( but not our last)
The Dall
porpoises kept us company as we exited the Bay – too busy enjoying them to take
photos - sorry.
